Why is the Conch Pearl great for a diving couple? Comfort and privacy. No hero divers. No pressure to do dives you don’t feel comfortable doing. It’s a great venue for the typical senario of experienced husband diver and newly certified wife diver (or vice versa). We do all sizes of dive groups on Conch Pearl, from couples to larger groups of 12 for scouts and dive clubs. We like them all , and find that we make many new friends each year from the scores of divers that come across our deck. We do find that we especially like the couples charters for that reason. We have had some couples charter 3 and 4 years in a row (not sure when it stops being a charter and becomes friends returning for a visit that pay you money). With that in mind we have offered special couples pricing for the coming fall/ winter/ spring to make it more affordable for couples to charter a private boat like Conch Pearl that would normally be too expensive for one couple.

Someone asked me that question the other day. They were implying that there were much more exotic places to go. My answer was well…. a lot of reasons. The Florida Keys are close. There are a lot of neat dive sites and a lot of history. They are as far south as you can go and still be in the USA. Key West is a fun town with something for everyone. Diving here supports local businesses in a tough economy. Medical help (if needed) is very close. There are many more reasons, but how many do you need for an excuse to DIVE? COME ON DOWN!!!

The weather has been horribly cold here in Key West. Fish have been dying at an alarming rate, washing up on beaches. Iguanas have been falling out of trees. And small heaters are sold out at all the local businesses! Only Hermes seems impervious to the cold–little bugger actually seems to like it!
